Is Kick Cashback really free?
Category: Getting Started
Yes — Kick Cashback is 100% free for shoppers. There's no membership fee, no monthly subscription, no premium tier, no setup cost, and no minimum spend requirement before you start earning. Creating an account takes about 30 seconds and the only details we ask for are an email address and a password. You don't need to enter a credit card to sign up, and there is no free trial that converts into a paid plan later.
How can a free service still pay you cashback?
Every time you shop through your Kick Cashback portal at kickpay.co, the retailer pays Kick a commission for sending you their way. We then pass the majority of that commission back to you as cashback. The retailer pays for new customers, you get a slice of that as a reward, and Kick keeps a small share to fund the platform. No money comes out of your pocket, and the price you pay at checkout is exactly the same as if you'd gone to the store directly.
What about hidden fees?
There are none on the shopper side. We don't charge withdrawal fees on Australian bank transfers, and there's no minimum amount you need to accumulate before you can claim. The only fee that ever applies is a 2.5% manual currency conversion fee — and that's only if you ask us to convert cashback earned in a foreign currency. If everything you shop is in AUD, you'll never see any fee at all.
Why is it free when other services charge?
A handful of overseas cashback platforms run paid tiers that promise higher rates or earlier payouts. Kick doesn't, because we believe the value of cashback is undermined the moment a shopper has to pay to access it. Our commission-from-retailer model is profitable enough to fund the whole platform — there is no commercial reason to charge shoppers, and we'd rather grow by reputation than by subscription.
Are there any costs once I claim?
No. When your cashback moves from Pending to Available to claim, you can request a payout to any Australian bank account at any amount, and the full amount lands in your account in 1-3 business days. We don't take a slice on the way out, and your bank doesn't charge you for receiving a bank transfer either.
Compared with the real cost of "free trials" elsewhere
Many savings tools advertise themselves as free but require you to keep a paid subscription to unlock the better cashback rates. Kick has a single rate per retailer, visible on the store's page in the portal, and that rate is what every Kick shopper earns regardless of how long you've been a member.
